These minutes are to support pupil panel members in feeding back to School Councils and Healthy Schools Meetings by providing a summary on:
•Briefing the school council on the Charter of Participation and to have a discussion within the group to decide whether school is actively working towards the charter. If school are not working on this but would like too and need some support Contact details for Ian McCabe -Transition Worker – Wirral Youth & Play Service who facilitated this session are included in the minutes.
•Feeding back to school council on the Role of the School Nurse and the HPV immunisation programme that is soon to be rolled out to all Year 8 female pupils from September 2008 with a catch up programme starting September 2009.

Our school council is being consulted about the special school review. we are meeting with Mr Andre Baird to tell him what we think about special school education.
we think its really important that we keep our special schools.

In our Summer Pupil Panel we will be discussing Difference and Diversity as a way of addressing why we should be embracing and celebrating individuality

Feedback from school council meetings - what are you talking about, have you made any decisions and how are you involving all the school in what is happening?
We collected information on way Young people and adults can mix... we think assemblies can work to younger years, websites(my space, bebo, piczo)however these are not aloud in schools and would need some sort of sercurity for the young people, who will use it at home. Also 1 main website could be created with a forum and links to all other useful sites of 'myspaces'... this would be aloud in schools, if all schools were contacted about it(could be the homepage.)Or a yahoo e-group could be set up(depends if people who use it and know how!) In our school posters and notice boards don't work, as no one pays attention to them.
mobile phones could be used, by sending automatic texts out to everyone( would need to be normal texts rates though)

We are hopefully going to recieve water fountains in school-we have appilied for a grant and hopefully will recieve it so we can use our water bottles; that every girl has been issued with.
What topics would you like to discuss at future Pupil Panels?
sponsored events we could organise... or events we could do for young people in our area... maybe organise events and activities in the summer holidays.
Are there any speakers or training that you would find useful at pupil panels?
charity workers, that we could raise money for... or MP's of wirral, to see what we can change or make a difference in.
